Indonesia - The time for being polite is over !

Amid corruption allegations and political posturing, Indonesia has executed eight people. Two Australians, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, and six other foreigners were gunned down by an Indonesian firing squad in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

In our reaction, we do not need to hold back for fear of being seen as arrogant westerners.

The President of Nauru Labeled a Dictator

Is the president of Nauru, Baron Waqa a leader or a dictator?

Five MP’s have been suspended from the nation’s parliament simply because they spoke to the international media.

The President supports the decision saying the MP’s acted in an “unruly manner”.

Now the Chief Justice has upheld their suspensions, saying the Supreme Court did not have the power to reverse parliament's decision.

One of the suspended MP’s Roland Kun is now openly referring to the current government as a dictatorship.

Abbott Cuts Hit The Poorest Of The Poor

Julie Bishop and Tony Abbott have slashed aid spending to the poorest people in the world again.

This time they’ve cut $4 billion over the next four years.

This means Australia will now drop from being the 13th most generous nation to the 20th.

The total cut to aid this year is almost $11 billion. That’s almost one third of all budget cuts.

Abbott has now cut overseas aid to its lowest level since 1958.

What a disgrace.
